Chesapeake Bay – The last flight for the book

with 4 comments

Last Friday morning I caught a break in the weather and flew up the Potomac River from Northern Virginia to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

Dickerson, Maryland power plant along the Potomac river.

In the early afternoon, I drove to York, Pennsylvania and flew with a former U.S. Army pilot who now flies a Hughes 500 for power line patrols. We flew the Susquehanna river from west of Harrisburg to the downstream dams near the Maryland border.

  1. Verrrry nice imagery…more than just a little jealous.

  2. Cameron,
Great photos! Thanks for documenting this storm we will all remember.

The first photo is not of Point of Rocks – but probably Brunswick yard further up the river.

Point of Rocks has only 2 tracks, and the most photographed train station in America – whose part of the side roof collapsed in the past storm.

  3. Thanks. I just checked the GPS data and you are right. I appreciate the note.

  4. Well done! From your point of view the snow is simply serene rather than “treacherous.” Thanks for sharing.
